QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: four-year university degree in in the field of Communications/ Electronics repair. Five years experience in one or more of the following fields: HF communications equipment, VHF land mobile communications equipment, UHF/Microwave with frequency division multiplexing systems, telephone central office (inside and outside plant) and system analysis. Familiarity with circuit diagrams.



FUNCTION: The South Camp Radio and Television Specialist has maintenance responsibilities for all radio and television station equipment within the defined scope of operations. The scope of operations includes South Camp and all remote sites in the Southern sector. RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct support of the following areas: 1. Installation, removal and repair of radio equipment as required. 2. Preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of radio equipment. 3. End user support of radio equipment. 4. Bench checking, fault-finding and repair of all types of radio equipment and systems to component level. 5. Vendor management with communication service providers as required. 6. Maintenance and repair of all SC and Southern Sector TV assets in both the SC TV station and at approved end user locations. 7. Maintenance and installation of fiber optic and copper (RF and coax) cabling as required. 8. Travels to remote sites to repair and conduct preventative maintenance as required. 9. Maintains record of maintenance services. 10. In absence of the Networks/Telephone Technician, maintenance of telephone systems, to include; IP PBX, telephone cabling and end devices. 11. Performs emergency and out of hours duties as required based on a rotating on-call shift schedule maintained in the section. 12. Any other duties as required.
